Several of the internal roads are in poor shape due to numerous potholes, irregular waste collection has resulted in roadsides turning dump yards, with trash spilling over to carriageways too, sewage overflows from drains choked due to waste and encroachments and illegal parking cause congestion and hinder traffic flow.

HSIIDC, which developed Udyog Vihar, said they are no longer responsible for most of the area’s upkeep. “Maintenance of streetlights, waste collection and disposal, cleaning of roads, and management of street vendors in Udyog Vihar fall under MCG’s jurisdiction. We provide water supply and look after the maintenance of sewer lines and roads, for which MCG has to reimburse us. We repair internal roads of the area regularly,” HSIIDC deputy general manager Arun Garg said.
MCG officials were not available for a comment.
