The unorganised laborer working in building construction sites
Though now daily labor rates have increased and some even getting rupees 1000 per day due shortage of labor but on the whole they are in a pathetic work conditions which could be reckless endangerment of human life and there are serious accidents ,injures and even fatalities which dont make it to any news cycle and all due to sheer negligence and simply not bothering about human life and those in the building and construction know what is being talked about .
Its a tough business building and construction but what is worst is some these so called builders dont care about worker safety at all but Government and its departments must check and rules are enforced as regards they being paid basic wage and not put up in the worst sort of living conditions no clean water to drink and sanitation and when it is mosquito season they contract all sorts of mosquito borne diseases like Malaria ,Chikungunya , Dengue etc living sub human squalid conditions with their entire families women and children subjected to conditions for not caring for their lives even though laborer is small component in the cost of building and construction process and specially when it comes to expensive properties and surely they can be given some dignity rather than being treated as sub humans and have seen lot of these builders with worst sort of building pratices when it comes to labor .
There was a this case in respectable neighborhood where a young laborer who was allegedely 17 years old from Bihar first day at the building site and in a building related accident died the question what did RWA do or for that matter anyone and was there even a case registered and against whom the owner of the plot or some goon thekadar / supervisior and under what sections and was there any compensation for the family in anyway and this incident is reality of laborer in the highest per capita income of the country .
