The stage is set for 2024 Haryana assembly elections and the Urban area of Gurugram District has declared its candidates It is hard to tell which side the voter will lean but it will be a good fight as it was in 2019 in the Badshahpur constituency where independent candidate Shri. Rakesh Daultabad won by a very narrow margin of just over 1% against Shri.Manish Yadav of the BJP this time in the same constituency Shri. Rao Narbir is contesting from the BJP was earlier elected as MLA in 2014 is pitted against Shri.Vardhan Yadav of the Congress and both are strong candidates in their own right and it all depends on many factors as to who emerges victorious not to forget the independent candidates play a part of their own and take away a strategic chunk of the votes and which has a bearing on the outcome of the results and then there are other parties in fray AAP, INLO , JJP that are in contention.
While in the constituency of Gurgaon BJP has fielded Shri.Mukesh Sharma and Congress has fielded Shri.Mohit Grover . In the previous election of 2019, Mohit Grover ran as an independent candidate and got 25% of the vote losing to Shri.Umesh Aggarwal of the BJP and lots of votes were taken up by the other candidates hence no such consolidation behind any candidate and leaves scope for wider battle in race for this constituency .
