Residents and RWA members of DLF Phase-2 have written to DLF Power & Services—a DLF business unit—expressing concern over “toxic gases” emanating from the sewage treatment plant (STP) in Cyber City, and named pollutants such as carbon monoxide, ammonia, methane and hydrogen sulphide, as among the gases allegedly emanating from the plant.

Safety and Security
During the day lot of open gates though are manned still there is a free movement of people and vehicles though commercial ones are stopped .
In the Night the gates are locked and there is watch at the entrance and even the some of the compact blocks have their gates manned so it is to an extent a little tight specially for vehicular traffic that is not of the colony but still there is a lot of free movement of people and there are spaces from which they can simply enter and leave at will like the boundary at MG Road .
Housing
Over three thousands plots with around 70% occupancy and the one of the highest rates per square yards among plotted developments , well organised with roads ranging from 9 – 24 meters and some areas have beautiful tree lined avenues and parks are provided for each block area though seems less though in between there are patches of green and most of the green belt around the colony has been used for public utility like building exit roads , massive construction is still taking place inside the colony houses being built from scratch and old ones being demolished .
Parking
Though at present there isnt a serious parking like that of Delhi colonies like Greater Kailash kinds but then occupancy is around 70% and many of the occupied plots are single family occupied but apartments are fast being built on plots and with mandatory stilt parking which is mostly being violated and cars are being parked on the roads is leading to congestion in areas of plots less than 300 sq yards with 9 meter roads and even with single family occupied roads and the development is only going to get worse unless and until some rules and regulation come into play
Open Space Parks
Parks are provided for every block and with a sprinkling of some green space and more could have been done in this regard the ratio of green area cum open space is less if you compare with colonies of South Delhi like Gulmohar Park etc
Electricity
The wires were changed in some blocks during the winters in 2018 – 19 and new transformers installed and yet it has not stopped power outages though they were less than previous years but the grid capacity needs to be upgraded as occupancy is low and massive power consumption of commercial enterprises like guest houses and PG’s are adding to the load all the time and people must be encouraged to use solar power but the right incentives must be give within a time frame
Policing
DLF – 2 police station has been upgraded with a new building in place and many changes have taken place though security is still a concern .
Sewage The sewage system was completed only a few years back and still the problems persist around the DLF – 2 metro station where the pipelines for Poorvi Marg and the massive underground pipes were laid below the metro were laid and there are still some problems in that drain
Roads
Roads specially the main ones like Akashneem Marg, Bouganvilla Marg , Jacranda Marg etc have been relaid in June 2019 and have been properly marked as for some internal roads they are in a dilapidated condition not having been relaid for over 10 years not even patch work has been done and DLF is leaving it for the take over of the colony and what happens then
Traffic
DLF phase – 2 has become a thoroughfare for all sorts of vehicle bound for other destinations , DLF sticker for local vehicles has not helped and then there are heavy commercial vehicles plying on the roads during the day .
Noise Pollution
The noise created by excessive honking on the roads and then there are generators with no proper silencers and now a major nuisance and disturbance is old home being dismantled and it goes on for days created serious disturbance for the neighboring houses and then there is nuisance while constructing houses and specially the cutting of stones , the flyover opposite Poorvi Marg has no sound barrier and then heavy commercial vehicles using power horns who is checking them
Air Pollution
Already the pollution is already high in Gurugram and then in summers the Diesel Generators are creating a deadly toxic pollution add to that vehicular pollution and then construction which is major source of dust pollution
Transportation and mobility
Bus routes have been provided the area is ringed by major roads like MG Road , NH 8 and Sector Road and has the metro around it inside the colony some electric scooters have been allowed for mobility .
Water Supply
Municipal water supply is not sufficient and most people are using water tankers and water is being wasted on a huge scale
Waste water mangement
Water harvesting pits have not been dug in all houses but on a public level they are there but not being used for the very purpose they were built for
Solid waste Management
Eco green still has the contract for solid waste collection and DLF has made an effort to keep empty plots clean despite rubbish and garbage being regularly dumped and other such issues but still the colony in many places is still dirty and real problem is construction debris from new construction and digging of roads and side for laying of some pipe or wire and are not closed properly creates a serious dust problem .
For now it is being managed by Eco green and is doing a fairly good job but large part of construction waste is lying around all the time .
